Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year! It was very eventful watching the boys open their presents. Micah got more Lightning McQueen cars and a carrying case for them. He also got a race track and more geo trains. Isaiah got and Elmo restaurant and he got some plastic power tools. They were excited to show off what they got. Micah is afraid of sitting on Santa's lap and so when he open all his presents he said wow Santa is so smart how did he know what I wanted! But I think I got the best gift which was a camera from Dwayne, which I used to take all these pictures with!!! Isaiah as you can see is very photogenic and will say cheese to anyone with a camera in hand. We visited Dwayne's family this morning and then My family came over for dinner. They love seeing their cousins this time of year so they can compare toys. This year instead of my grandpa giving checks to everyone we decided to donate our money to a charity or organization in need. And this year we chose Isaiah's early intervention school. They are a non-profit organization and most of the family's who go there are paying off medical bills for their kids that have a handicap. So it's good to know that the money will go to help other family's in need! Hope all of you who read this had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!

Gingerbread houses

On Thursday we went to Melisa's to make gingerbread houses. The kids were so excited. They were mostly eating the candy not making the house. But I managed to help Isaiah make his. But Micah did his own. It was lots of fun to do it with our good friends. Now if I can just keep them from eating them while they are on display at home that would be great! What a fun afternoon.

Temple and Christmas

So this post is a little personal. Yesterday I had the opportunity to go and clean part of the Salt Lake Temple. I was nervous I had never done this before. My sister in law Ev who cleans at the Bountiful temple said you go in your church clothes and they will give you clothes to clean in. And she said you will have an amazing experience while you are cleaning. But that doesn't even begin to describe it. When we got there we got changed in to our cleaning clothes and then we broke up into teams and each team had a housekeeper with us to show us what to clean. Our housekeeper said it was going to be dirtier than usual because they hadn't cleaned since Saturday, but I'm telling you there was no dust anywhere. It was so clean in places where you would think dust would collect there was not a speck anywhere. And then when we were vacuuming it was hard to see where you had vacuumed all ready because there was nothing on the floor. The dirtiest place was the children's waiting room of course. If your ward ever has the opportunity to clean it some time I would highly recommend it. Just being there was amazing and then seeing things you don't normally get to see when you do a session was way awesome. I learned things I never knew about the temple. But it makes me have a greater love for it, and I just have this hunger to want to go back so much more now. I will definitely make it more of a priority to go there more often. And if you live in Utah you have probably more than one temple within a 40 mile radius so you have no excuses not to go. I felt the spirit so strong just in cleaning the temple. I can't wait to do it again.

On another note I'm so excited that my girlfriends from college are coming into town this month. Allyson lives in northern Idaho and Tanya lives in Vegas so it's going to be great to see them. And then all the girls from around Utah will get together with them. We had some crazy times at Snow but it was always fun with those girls. I love the holiday's when everyone comes into town.  Now if I can just find the one thing that Micah must have for christmas I'll be done shopping for the kids. But then I have to shop for my big kid, Dwayne! He wants a remote control hummer that is like sixty bucks I said to him don't you want something more practical this year. But he said no I want that hummer. Ugghh!!! I still love this time of year and now that we finally have snow it looks like Christmas time!!!!

I know I'm a little behind but I had to post about something that I'm thankful for. Yesterday morning I woke up with a bad toothache. It was so bad it made my whole face hurt up and down my neck and around my ear. So I called the dentist office and the receptionist said she would call the  dentist to see if he could fix it that day or recommend an emergency dentist. When she called back she said he would be in his Provo office if I could get down there. So My sweet grandpa drove me all the way to Provo just to see him. And when we got there he took some xrays and said looks like you need a root canal. I was shocked!! So they numbed me up and went to work. They didn't get it all done that day, I still have to come back next week. But I was so grateful he happened to be in his office right when I called and was able to relieve most of the pain. The tooth it self is still sore but no pain anywhere else. Thank goodness!!! Just wanted to let you know I'm thankful for the dentist and my grandpa.

I just took Isaiah to the Liver Doctor this morning, and when we go we have to have labs drawn before the appt. so they can have the results. So that takes an extra hour and half because they are always backed up. And then  we arrive in the doctors office about 30 min before our appt. but have to wait and hour and half there because she's backed up as well. And then by the time we get in to the room it's almost two hours past our appt. time. And this is all so that the Physicians assistant can check him over, and the doctor can pop her head in and say.... He's a rockstar!!! In other words he's fine no changes this month. And we can go four months between appt. this time. What a sigh of relief. I always get nervous when appts. roll around you never know if they are going to send you home or send you into the hospital. It must be all the prayers in Isaiah's behalf that keep him healthy right now. That's one less worry this week. Now I can focus on Thanksgiving! Some of my extended family is not coming this year to my mom's so we have to make more of the sides our selves. We have no one to make the pies this year. I've never made pie before, how hard can it be?!? And then I have to make a birthday cake for my mother inlaws because we celebrate alot of fall birthdays. I think because my birthday is one of them I'll make red velvet cake. I Love it!!!! I hope all my friends and family who read this blog have a great Thanksgiving!!! We love you all!!!

So as some of you know we are staying with my mom right now. And she has been redoing her kitchen, living room, and dining room. But it's almost done. It should be totally finished by next week. Yea!!! I can't wait because it looks so good and there is so much counter space now. And it's good for entertaining. So My little mommies group can finally come over. We were running out of places for our kids to play because it's cold out side now. But thanks to Melisa we have been at her house all the time. I can finally take some of the responsibility off of her shoulders and let my house get trashed by the kids. (j/k) And then Jamie and I won't have to drive so far haha! And to add to my birthday week my mom and I are going to the ballet for this seasons opening night tomorrow. We have season tickets this year. I keep asking Dwayne if he wants to go but you know how football players can be, he's said no so promptly!! Which is fine with me he can put the kids to bed and I can have a girls night out, doesn't bother me. And I'm so looking forward to this holiday season on of my closest friends Allyson is coming down from Idaho for three weeks so I get to see her and her family. I haven't seen them much because they live at the top part of Idaho and they don't get down here much, but her brother is getting married in December. I love seeing old friends, and new friends. I just love my friends. It really helps to be able to talk to other girls your age and not just your four year old all the time.   Thanks again to all my wonderful friends!!!!

Birthday fun

I thought I would post today in Purple because it is my favorite color and it being my birthday week this post is mostly about me and some other too of course.!!!J/K I say birthday week because you know how people always wish you an early b-day or a belated b-day and then you get gifts all week long. Well mine started yesterday. I went to a boutique  in the morning with my mom and they had such cute stuff. I hit the jackpot!! I did by some gifts for other people. And then the whole fam went to Macaroni grill which I love. And then my mom and I went to Maceys.
They are having a huge sale, and I love there clothes. So My mom bought me some nice b-day gifts. Thanks Mom!!! Thanks to all my friends who have wished me a happy birthday all ready. So many of my friends and family have b-days  in November. My good friend Allyson's b-day is tomorrow and my moms in on the 22nd. I think that's why I love fall so much! I can't believe I'm going to be 26 yes that's my real age! This last week I had the chance to get together with some girlfriends and chat about girl things and I love the fact that I'm able to do that. I'm glad I have such good friends around me. And I miss the ones who are not. But we do have our blogs to keep in touch. So Happy Birthday to everyone who's birthday in in November, what a great month!!!!

My little man

This post is all about Isaiah. he's looks so big but he is behind in many ways. Today we had him tested by a speech language pathologist and she said that his vocabulary is missing alot of the consanants that most kids his age can say. Letters like d,p,b,m,t,h,and w. he mostly speeks using vowels so like doggie comes out oggie. And baby is ee. So this mean that when he is done with early intervention on his third birthday in January he will go right in to pre-school with the school district and have a speech therapist work with him on a daily basis. I 'm excited for him to start this new chapter in his life. But we might be sorry when he learns to talk because now he jabbers all the time, and we might not get him to shut up when he does learn. I have a song on my blog by Mark Shultz  that is called " He's my Son" and if you have time to listen to it all the way through it explains how Dwayne and I felt when we had to take Isaiah to primary's the first time for his surgery and all the tests. It's one thing if you have life threatning illness but it's another to watch your child have one. If there is one thing I can tell you about it, it is that I gained a very strong testimony at that time and greater love for our savior. Without him we wouldn't have made it through the scariest time in our lives. Not to mention our friends and family( Melisa, Heather, Evelyn, Valerie, Missy, Karen,Grandma's and Grandpa) they stepped right up to take care of Micah when I needed to be at the hospital for two months. THANK YOU GUYS!!!! We are so lucky to have people around us who love us and we love them. We count our blessing now that he's been a year and six months without a hospital stay. And he's dormant on the Liver transplant list. Doctors are baffled that he turned around so quickly , but I know it was all the praying and fasting we did. Heavenly father wanted Isaiah on this earth for a reason greater than we know. It goes to show that he is always here for us no matter what and we can always call on him. He's our constant friend and companion. We may not be where we thought we would today but we know that the lord will see us through our hard times and help us on our path to where we want to be.

Life

Well lately I've been contemplating weather there is ever a good time to have another baby! And I would like your opinion on this lets take a vote. Now or later??? Some of the cons are that we don't have our house yet, and Dwayne isn't in Law school yet, and I don;t like being on bed rest. And the pros are that Micah keeps asking for a sister, and that I will have all my kids close together. But every time I think of it I go back to the Iv's  and the no eating for three months and the rapid weight loss. It's weird that my cousins are pregers right now because I have been thinking about this for a while!!! Please help let me know what you think!! On another note Halloween is coming up do you think I have Micahs costume done, No!!! I'm a slacker this year. October is just to busy for me!! I'm sure all you mom's out there are making great costumes for your kids and you are all ready done. But not me I'm not Martha Stewart like the rest of you!! We'll see what I come up with in the next two days!!

The Mess...

Right now we are living with my mom and Grandpa. And while it's a little cramped for space we make it work, or at least we did until this week. They decided to rip out their Kitchen, living room and dining room. And so now we have a make shift kitchen in the basement with us. It's been noisy these last few days and so the kids don't nap well. And then today the electrician was here and the shut of the power for the afternoon. So I just stayed outside because I couldn't see downstairs. I know it will make the upstairs look better but they said it would be about six weeks to get it all done. And I'm already sick of eating out. But what can we do about it, nothing. But oh well thats o.k. we will get through it. I'm glad I have good friends who want to go out and eat with me.

So Sad but also happy

Well I'm posting in Green this time becasue Micah love Green, and this post is about him. He started pre-school 4 this week. And I know he need sot grow up but why so fast!! He is again the biggest in his class. And there is another little african american boy in his class so he's not alone. When I find the cords to the camera I will post his pictures for the first day on here. It's har to believe he is four now. He loves school he couldn't wait to go back becasue Isaiah had school all summer, becasue he is in therapy school so they only had two weeks of in August. Now he goes four days a week so I get alonger break formn him but I still have Isaiah home with me on two of those days and he's very busy!! I run around the house saying don't touch that, put it down, and then I clean up all the messes he's made. I get a great work out from that. On another note Dwayne got a job at Franklin Covey. He works there in the mornings and at Apex at night. He loves working there. He's doing sales for them. We are still waitng on Law school. Dwayne really wants to go out of state still. And after I have seen how well many of my freinds have adjusted outside of the bubble I might actualy agree with Dwayne. It would be kind of fun to go out of state for a while and experience some culture as Dwayne puts it. We will just have to see what happens.

Congratulations Erin!!!! You are about to enjoy the world of mommyhood! I mean sleepless nights, two a.m. feedings and all that. Oh, yea and knowing you created a life with god. That's important also. Well for all those how were wondering Dwayne did pick a job at Apex Alarms the only down side is that it's in Provo. But if he gets into Law school there at BYU then we could get a house down there. It would be nice to finally have a house. And be near alot of our friends who live in Utah county. And he's training with NY life to get his life insurance licenses. He wants to do that on the side. So I have to tell you all me drama from last sunday. I was sitting in Relief Society minding my own buisness when my mom(the primary pres.) comes in with Micah. I'm thinking to my self he's potty trained so what could they need. Well a little girl sitting in front of him in primary had some jewelry beads and she gave one to Micah, now mind you Micah is way over the put everything in your mouth stage so of course why not out it in his nose. Yes his nose, and it was stuck way up in the nasal cavity. So I had to take him to the ER. At first they tried a suction but that didn't work. And they tried using long tweezers but his nose was starting to swell around the bead. This was going on for about 45 min. Then the doctor started talking about some tool but they couldn't find it so they left the room for a while. Then they cam back with a catheter that was really small and he inserted it in his nose and blew up the balloon and just when he was going to give up and send us to Primary's for a more evasive approach the bead came out when he tugged on the catheter. He had threaded the bead in the end of it. When the nurse asked Micah why he did it he said he wanted to see if it fit up his nose. And when she asked what color it was he said so sure of him self, GREEN. And of course it was green and sparkly. So now I have in a specimen cup a green jewelry bead. Which I will use to embarrass him for the rest of his life , for causing that 2 hours of grief in my life. He cried so hard in the ER that I know he won't do that again!!! I guess the saying is right" Boys will be boys." It seams like I can't go a month without an ER visit. What a joy!!

Friday, August 1, 2008

It's been a while but I'm still here. We were in the process of moving last week, ughh!! We moved in with my mom to save money for Dwayne to go to law school. It's and adjustment I will say that. I'm not used to having her tell me when to do things like clean the kitchen and do Laundry. But it's for the best. An update on my uncle he passed away last wednesday. It was hard for my family but I know he's in a better place now with my dad and my grandma. Thank to all who prayed for him. It meant alot. So anyho, now I have to focus on school coming up. I can't believe summer is almost over, I'm trying to get Micah into the pre-school around the corner from us instead of having to drive a mile to the other school. Not having any luck I guess the teacher is really good at this school so her class is full right now. It would really help because Isaiah will be going there in January so I don't want to have to drive to all these different schools. On a lighter note, Dwayne has been offered several job the trick is picking the right one. One of the jobs is working for an airlines doing marketing for them in this region so it would require travel Monday- Friday. But the pay is good so decisions decisions decisions. I guess we will pray about it to figure out what is best. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Thursday, July 17, 2008

So today I received an e-mail form my aunt saying that my uncle was in the hospital on life support because he has bleeding on the brain. And  I just received another one saying that the brain surgery didn't work. I feel like dejavu with my dad for years ago. When he had a brain aneurysm and his brain surgery didn't work either. That's when I had to decide to take him off life support. They are saying that my uncle has mangled blood vessels in his brain that we there from birth, I'm not sure if my dad did but it could be related.  So it doesn't look good right now for him. So please keep Bernie Smith in your prayers. Not what I wanted to hear today but things happen for a reason only God knows. It's been a busy day so this is going to be a short one.

Friends

So something really scary happened to good friend of mine this last week. It's something that when you find out about it you don't know how to react to it. But all I do know is if it happened to me I would want my closest friends around me. There are some things in this life that we just can't explain why, or why me. There are things that happen to good people and we just don't know why it would happen to them. But I know that they come into our lives to make us stronger. I mean this week could very well be the second worst time in my life second to Isaiahs surgery. Dwayne lost his job but thankfully he has interviews today with three places. And then I took Isaiah to see a child psychologist and he said that his speech problem could be genticaly related and he wants him seen by a genetisist and wants his head to have an MRI to see if there is anything wrong there. He said that he could have a child syndrome and all of his problems could be related. And if thats the case then we don't know when his speech will get better. Just what I needed. I know things happen for a reason, but so much at once!!! I guess the only way to get over it is to pray, I've spent alot of time on my knees this last month. But I know it's worth it in the end. As for my friend I hope she feel better soon, and that she remembers that Heavenly Father loves her as he loves me too!!!

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

I usually post in purple of course but today I had to do Red because it is soooo HOT!!!! Our Swap cooler doesn't work and we haven't got our new AC that was promised a month ago by our landlord!!! Most people I've talked to say we shouldn't pay our rent if we don't get our AC this week. I think I'm with them. We should knock off a couple hundred for all the days that it's unbearable!! I can't keep up on my laundry because I don't want to run my dryer during the day. And it's way hot when I clean so I clean at night when the boys are asleep. But for real I mean I can't live much longer like this. And to top it of I saw ducks swimming in one of the pools here, not the one we use but who knows if they've been in our pool. So I think it's time to break down and get a community pool membership. I like ducks they are cute but I don't want to swim with them. Still trying to find something for Micah to do this summer. He gets a little sad when Isaiah gets to go to school and he doesn't. Still waiting for Dwaynes test score. Should be here end of this week finally.

Well things are kind of crazy right now in our lives. Dwayne just took his second Law school admissions test to see if he get a better score this time. And he has all of his apps done and ready to go to about 15 schools. We really want to go outside of Utah for a while. And if you haven't heard my soap box yet our Swamp cooler doesn't work in the day and we don't have our new ac yet. So by three o clock in the afternoon it's a swealtering 85 degrees in our house. I think I'm not going to pay our rent this next month if we don't get it fixed soon. It's so darn hottt!!!! On a good note I took Isaiah to the liver clinic on Monday and the doctor said he has no signs of any infection, but that his liver is still hard and big so if he doesn't get sick in the near future they will hold off on a liver transplant until he's about 10 years old. Thats good because little kids it's harder on there bodies to have transplants. So by then Dwayne should be a practicing attorney and we might actually be able to afford it. So I have a mac right now but I think Dwaynes going to get me a PC so I can upload photos! I'm also computer illiterate so bear with me it might take a while!! As an answer to Heathers question I got the bike trailer/jogging stroller on Amazon. But Micah doesn't fit well because he's so tall. It only tells you that the weight requirement is 50 lbs. But you don't have giant 4 year old either. Other than that I love it. It's a Schwin one thats red and black and it's easy to fold up and put in my trunk.

Friday, May 30, 2008

Well Memorial day was kind of a downer if you were in Utah. We had crazy rain all day. But Dwayne and I did manage to sneak away and see Iron Man. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. And then today the kids and I went over to my moms and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows in her outdoors fireplace. It was fun. And then Micah and grandma put up the tent and are sleeping out side, Isaiah changed his mind at the last minuet when I tried to leave. He is a mamma's boy. I think it's all the time I spent with him in the hospital. So I really wanted a new camera so I could post pictures on here, but Dwayne bought me a GPS. I mean I know how to get everywhere in Utah. It's Dwayne who can't get anywhere I said nice mothers day gift. It's more for him than me. He does that a lot, buys something for me when it's really for him. So no pictures yet. Soon I hope. I 'm glad our pool opened this last weekend now we can go swimming. And I just got a bike trailer/jogging stroller so I can jog with Robin now. Have a good weekend!!!!

Friday, May 16, 2008

I have to let you all know something that was funny to me about Micah. I work at Wingers as a server right now and last night he told my mom," My mom works at wiskers and she gives people food." He can be so funny sometimes because he speaks with conviction, he's so matter of factly. I've been looking for beds for the boys. Isaiah is getting to big for the crib. And I want to get matching beds for their room. But I'm having a hard time finding them here in Utah. And most websites online don't deliver to Utah. And I'm not shopping at RC Willey again they are a rip of. If you have any suggestions let me know please. I want some with drawers on the bottom for extra storage.

My dear friends I am now revamping my Mary Kay business. I want to be able to set my own hours and work from home. If you need some girl time or you just need a little free pampering call me anytime. I would love to show you some of our fabulous new products!!! I'm done working the J-O-B. Why work for someone else when you can work for yourself. I like that I can work as much or as little as I want and the girlfriends I made in Mary Kay rock!!! They are some of the classiest women I've met as well as fun to be around. I enjoy making other women feel beautiful!! At first when I started I was shy, but I've realized the greatness of this company and thats why I want everyone to know I love my business! And if you know any women who would enjoy a free makeover or pampering session let me know. I give great gifts to those who help me reach my goals in Mary Kay. My number is 801-674-2099

I now know why it's been so cold this year in Utah. It was the coldest spell in 35 years. I'm so glad it's warming up. Micah only has two weeks left of school. And his teacher is trying to jam pack these last weeks. Last week they went on a field trip to the Aquarium, and when he came home he said there was a Nemo fish and a daddy Nemo fish and there was two Dorry fish. And this week they are going to Wheeler Farm. I know he will love that, he loves animals and riding the school bus. Every time I pick him up from school he asks me when do I get to ride the school bus? Now we can start to plan our family vacations for the summer. I want to go camping but Dwayne isn't really into the whole tent thing. But I think he'll do it for the boys. On New years this year my mom put up a tent in her basement for the boys to sleep in so now they love tents. And then we might also go to our condo in Mesquite. I love it there because you are right in the middle of St. George and Vegas. I would like to go farther but with gas prices going up it's crazy and our Jeep doesn't get very good gas mileage. Thats about it for now bye.

Dwayne finally graduated from the University of Utah last week. Now all he needs to do is take the LSAT one more time. And then we will know where we are moving for Law school. I wish we were staying in Utah but the change might be good. I've never lived outside of Utah for longer than two weeks. Although Dwaynes talking about Detroit, ughhh. I don't want to live there with all the crime and it's so cold there. I looked online and there are no LDS Realtors in that area, that should tell us something. School is almost out for Micah. I'm going to be sad he needs something to do ,maybe swimming lessons. But Isaiahs speech therapy school goes all summer except for two weeks. We are planning a trip to Mesquite for the end of May. We need a family vacation, our last one to San Diego in February Dwayne couldn't come so he didn't get the joy of experiencing Micahs car sickness four times in one day making the trip form Vegas to LA a long day. We finally found that there is childrens Dramemene . That helped on the way back. Well I better stop writing an clean my house up while Isaiah is sleeping .

Well it was good weekend. We accomplished lots. Dwayne got fitted for his suits for graduation. Now all I need to do is get invitations out. And plan the menu for his party. I also got rain boots for the boys they are soo cute. Micah has another T-Ball game tomorrow. I hope he doesn't cry this time. they let all the kids run for the ball, and if he doesn't get it he cries. He doesn't like competition. What can you do he's three. So glad the weather is nice now. I hope it stays this way!!! bye for now.

Well o.k. this is new for me to blog. This week has been crazy, I have to teach relief society
this Sunday and I have no time type my lesson except after the kids go down at night. Which now is at 9:00 instead of 8:00 because they were getting up to early and not sleeping long enough. And also I'm still working on Speech with Isaiah our two year old. He has some speech delays because he was in the hospital for most of his first year with Liver problems. It frusterates me when I don't know what he wants but he does know a little bit of sign language so that helps I guess. When I figure out how to use our new mac I will post some pictures
of our family.
